Dr. Pilar limits his practice to treating patients suffering from migraine headaches, head-neck muscle and jaw joint disorders.  His highly effective, non invasive and state of the art treatment program is designed for patients with conditions associated with migraine headaches that may include symptoms of temporo-mandibular disorder (TMD) such as neck to shoulder to head pain, eye/ear sensitivity, dizziness/blurry eyesight, jaw pain and clicking, ringing in the ears, grinding or clenching of teeth.

After a thorough intra-oral and extra-oral patient exam which includes muscle spasm-trigger point evaluation, Dr. Pilar employs a dual pronged treatment program consisting of ETPS (Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulation) and a customized muscle orthotic appliance, the NTI. 

ETPS combines the principles of acutherapy with D.C. current at extremely low frequency levels via electric stimulation to locate, pinpoint and treat the trigger points which set off the debilitating muscle contractions and ensuing painful symptoms. 

In addition, the NTI, a small, comfortable, customized orthotic mouth appliance prevents the jaw clenching and undesirable contact of all upper and lower back teeth including the associated head and neck muscular contractions.
